Winter Sports Update: 1/25-1/29

Boys’ Swimming and Diving

Today there is a meet in Topeka at Hummer Park and it’s one of the bigger meets of the season. The boys are fresh off of a win against Blue Valley North, one of their biggest competitors, so it’ll be interesting to see how they do in Topeka. The meet starts at 4. Then on Friday and Saturday, there is the varsity Sunflower League meet which they’ve won pretty consistently for many years.

Bowling:

The bowling team got second in their meet on Thursday. Senior Gabe Snyder said, “We’re all really working hard on getting our numbers up but having fun doing it. Everyone is really excited and we have a lot of new young blood. We are ready to leave it all on the lanes.”

Girls Basketball:

The girls played well against Gardner-Edgerton on Friday night. The team almost won, but East fouled one of the girls and her free throws put the team in the lead. There is an upcoming tournament and the team is very excited about their chances.
