Varsity Soccer, Senior Night: Shawnee Mission East vs Shawnee Mission West at Shawnee Mission Complex at 7:00.

Concerts:

Andy Mckee and Antoine Dufour:YouTube guitar sensations take the stage at the Lawrence Arts Center. This concert is right up any musician’s alley.

Shawnee Mission East Jazz Band Concert: The SME Jazz Band shows off their music at 7:00 in the auditorium.

FRIDAY 10/14

Concerts:

Blind Pilot and Brett Dennen:Sponsored by 90.9 The Bridge, two indie groups Blind Pilot and Brett Dennen join together at the Beaumont Club at 8:00. Some of Blind Pilot’s hits are “We Are the Tide” and “One Red Thread”. Some of Brett Dennen’s hits are “Blessed”, “Dancing at a Funeral”, and “Ain’t No Reason.”

Movies:

Footloose: Starring Kenny Wormald and Julianne Hough, the classic musical is remade with current high school students and modern dancing.

The Thing: Starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Joel Edgerton, this thriller is about the discovery of a frozen life form that escapes and is able to take over people’s bodies.

The Big Year: Starring Jack Black, Owen Wilson, and Steve Martin, this film is about three men taking a year of their lives in order to follow their dreams.

East Football: SM East Lancers vs Blue Valley North at BVDAC.

Sports:

Volleyball: at 8:00 a.m. the SME girl’s volleyball team has their invitational vs St. Thomas Aquinas. This match will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas.

KU Football: KU vs Oklahoma at 8:05 p.m. in Lawrence.

Choir Italian Dinner: In preperation for the Italy trip this Spring break, the SME choir is having an Italian dinner Sunday night at Harmon Park.
