Spring Sports Update: Week Four

Boys’ Tennis

This week was full of matches for both the JV and Varsity team. Both teams will not have practice this week until Friday due to matches all week. The JV and Varsity team had a match Monday against SMNW, but it was cancelled due to weather. Tuesday both teams are playing BVWest at SM East. On Wednesday, both teams are playing SM North at North. Then on Thursday, Varsity plays Olathe East at Olathe East, and JV plays them at East.

Boys’ Lacrosse

The team had several games last week that leave the Lancers at 7-2.  East won over rival Pembroke Hill Friday 15-7 and was scheduled to play Rockhurst Monday. The game was rescheduled because of the cold weather.  John Aliber continues to lead the team in scores.

Girls’ Soccer

The girls soccer team beat St. James 1-0 on Tuesday night. Thursday evening the Lady Lancers took on Olathe East, and……. Their record is now Next week they will take on both SM South and SM West.

Girls’ Lacrosse

The girls’ lacrosse varsity team recently took on the Pembroke Hill Raiders on Wednesday, April 9. The team easily beat the Raiders 18-6 after a slow start of the first half. On Monday, April 7, both the JV and varsity team beat Lee’s Summit West (LSW). The JV team won 3-1 while the varsity team won 8-7. The varsity team previously played and beat LSW to win the Spring Fever Tournament in Omaha, Neb.

The girls went to support the boys’ lacrosse team on Tuesday, April 15 as they took on Rockhurst. They hope for the boys to come out and support them when it is the girls’ senior night.

The next game for the girls’ lacrosse team is on Thursday, April 17 against Lee’s Summit at SM South. The JV team will play at 6 pm. while the varsity team will play at 7:45 p.m.


On Wednesday night, April 16, the baseball team snapped a two game losing streak, beating Olathe North 6-1. They team is now 6-2 on the season and third in the Sunflower League. C-Team is 3-5; JV is 5-3. Varsity plays Leavenworth Thursday, April 17.

Track and Field

KU relays are taking place Friday, April 18 and Saturday, April 19 in Lawrence. The team just had districts. Girls varsity placed second overall, JV placed third overall. Boys varsity got last place, and boys jv placed fourth.
