Boys’ Swim and Dive

The Boys’ Swim and Dive team won the Sunflower League for the 13th straight year. Free State placed second at the meet. This Thursday is the last chance meet, which means that it’s the last chance for swimmers to get state cut times to qualify for the state meet. That’s the last meet until the state meet which is February 18th and 19th in Topeka. Prelims occur on the 18th, then finals on the 19th. Finals are what they need to swim well at if they are hoping to get state again. There are some good freshmen swimmers who are going to state, which include PJ Spencer and Sam Bruck.

Girls’ Basketball

The Girls’ Basketball team won 3 of their 4 games last week and are super pumped about it. They keep improving every week and prove to be getting better in their games according to sophomore and varsity player Emma Linscott. Tonight they have a game at Olathe South at 5:30.

Boys’ and Girls’ Bowling

It is a pretty slow week for bowling. Not much outside the normal practice games after school,  but they are excited to get back on the lanes and work as a team since they will have a lot of time to practice in the next few coming weeks.

Wrestling

The wrestling team is coming off a win at districts last Friday at SM South. Another milestone this year was made by senior Michael Aldrich. Aldrich passed the 100 win mark in a recent wrestling meet, checking off one of his major goals that he set for himself heading into his high school career.

Boys’ Basketball

The Boys’ Basketball team is coming off a victory against Olathe North last Friday night. The team has boosted their record to 4-10 after their victory over the Eagles. The team has extended their winning streak to three straight coming off their last victory against Olathe North. They play an away game tonight against Olathe South at 7:00.
