Track Competes in KU Relays

Every spring, hundreds of track and field athletes gather in Lawrence, Kan. for the annual University of Kansas (KU) Relays. The Relays have been happening since 1923 and attract athletes from all across the country. This year, the Relays will take place from April 16 to April 19 with 14 East students participating.

“I’m very nervous because there is so much talent at KU but I’m also very excited because we have a good chance of placing in some of our relays,” senior Jack McDonald said. This is McDonald’s first year running at the Relays.

The following students will be participating in the Relays:

Girls 4×4 with Hope Dunn, Kaycee Mayfield, Phoebe Aguiar and Grace Quinlan with Annie Kuklenski as an alternate

Grace Quinlan 800M

Erik Harken 110 and 300H

Will Oakley 110 and 300H

Girls Sprint Medley with Mayfield, Aguiar, Quinlan, and Kuklenski with Dunn and Hannah Arnspiger as alternate

Girls 4×200 with Dunn, Mayfield, Quinlan and Britt Hoffman with Phoebe Aguiar as alternate

Boys 4×800 with Will Clough, Dylan Martz, John Arnspiger and Will Moore with Jack McDonald as alternate

Boys Distance Medley Relay with George Miller, Clough, Martz and McDonald with Moore as alternate
