On Monday Oct. 28, the boys’ soccer team took on Wyandotte in the first round of Regionals at the Shawnee Mission Soccer Complex. In the first half junior Ari Throckmorton scored the first goal. With four minutes left in the half senior Andrew McClanahan scored again, putting the Lancers up 2-0 by the end of the half.

During most of the second half the Lancers remained scoreless until a buzzer beater goal by sophomore Derrick McClanahan, putting the Lancers up 3-0. The Lancers won the game and will play 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31 against Blue Valley at Blue Valley West High School.

“We just got a slow start to the game,” senior Will Orth said. “Once we got scored the first goal we got confident and were able to put in two more. To prepare for the game on Thursday we are just practicing like normal and hoping that the weather cooperates so that we can play outside some this week.”
