Wednesday is national signing day for future collegiate athletes across the nation. One of them is senior linebacker Kyle Ball, who decided to play football for Kansas State University in December.

Ball will enter as a greyshirt for the team, meaning that he will not be enrolled at the university or practice with the football program until next January.

For the next fall semester, Ball will take classes at Johnson County Community College. Then, once spring of 2016 rolls around, his full scholarship applies at KSU.

Ball also considered football programs including the University of Kansas and the Air Force Academy, but K-state stood out to him.

“I really loved the atmosphere down there,” Ball explained. “And I also like the the values that the team has.”

Those values were a major factor in his decision. The university’s football program has their “16 Goals to Success” posted everywhere to inspire their players and keep them motivated, something he appreciated.

Ball does not currently know what he wants to do after college football.

“I see college ball as a way to continue playing the game I love, and I’ll see where that takes me,” Ball said.
