Preview: Football vs. SM Northwest

The SM East Lancers will be playing the SM Northwest Cougars at home (SM South Stadium). The Lancers will be defending their 2-0 record while the Cougars (1-1) hope to capitalize on their passing offense and pull out a win.

Varsity quarterback junior Luke Kaiser will be relying on the offensive line as well as the receiving ability of his wideouts to advance down the field. Look for junior Trevor Thompson to make a big impact on tonight’s game in the safety position. Northwest is known for their large passing offense, which could create opportunities for interceptions.

“I’m really excited to go against the best defense we’ve played so far this year.” Kaiser said. “It’ll give us a challenge and let us see what we can do out on the field.”

SM Northwest players will likely be taking advantage of their impressive passing skills in tonight’s game. So far this season they have recorded 650 passing yards, the most in the Sunflower League.

Lancer player’s 2-0 record, as well as their “no points against” streak, will serve as their motivation for the night. The game will begin at 7 p.m. and will be broadcasted on smeharbinger.net.
