Orchestra to Host String Fling

The annual East Orchestra ‘String Fling’ will be tonight, Thursday April 24, at 7 p.m. in the East main gym. It is a concert showcasing all of the orchestra students in the East area, including students from the feeder elementary schools and middle school.

“Parents love it because they can see what orchestra is like and the progress their kid can make from elementary to high school,” senior Audrey Nelson said. “It’s really cool because for the finale this year we’re all playing Beethoven’s ‘Ode To Joy’ together at the end.”

Junior Becca Zeiger believes that it is a great way for the younger kids to see why they should stay in orchestra when they get to high school and hopes to see a good turnout of student support.
