I love ’90s sitcoms. “Boy Meets World,” “Full House,” “Fresh Prince of Bel Air,” you name it. There’s just something about them. The hilarity of Sean and Cory’s bromance, the innocence of D.J. when she first uses make-up and, of course, the lady magnet that is Will Smith. Today’s television cannot compare. Now, I’m not saying I don’t love watching “The New Girl” every now and then. Zooey Deschanel is quirky and somehow makes every American girl want to be like her, despite her awkwardness. But watching it makes me miss the simplicity of the ’90s.

And how long have these shows lasted? They’ve been playing re-runs for nearly the past two decades and I heard “The New Girl” will not even be having a second season. So what is it that makes these shows so much better?

I personally think the shows from the ’90s are better because everyone is so much more innocent. In the second episode of “The New Girl,” she was looking for rebound sex. I miss the old days when we were so much more naïve, watching Corey and Topanga’s love blossom and Will hit on endless girls. It’s like comparing Seventeen magazine to Cosmo.

I guess TV producers have lost their touch. They have to keep up with today’s fast-paced society and stick with the times. But no matter where I go in the future, I will always be a child of the ’90s.
