Trader Joe’s, famous for selling international specialties and the wine brand “Two-Buck Chuck”, is already established in 25 states with 340 locations including cities such as Los Angeles and St. Louis.
The company will be opening two stores in the Kansas City area, one on both sides of the state line since they are not permitted to sell alcohol in Kansas. The Missouri store will be located at Ward Parkway Center in south KC, while the Kansas retailer will open at One Nineteen at 119th Street.
Like Costco and their Kirkland brand, the majority of all items in Trader Joe’s fall under the Trader Joe’s brand. Customers can get free samples and even ask to taste most products in the store before purchasing them.

Jakob Yedo, who works at Price Chopper, feels that Trader Joes is a nice change from traditional stores such as the one he works at.
