On Saturday, expectations were high going into state and the Lancers met those expectations as they took first overall.

The varsity team of seniors Mimi Fotopolous and Molly Cooper, junior Elizabeth Wilcox, sophomore Meridth Shackleford, and freshmen Stephanie Wilcox and Elizabeth Barnickel continued the strong success that they have had all year.

Fotopolous, who was last year’s singles state champion, capped off her strong season (10-0) and once again took first place in singles. Cooper and Elizabeth Wilcox placed first in doubles, as well. Barnicle placed fifth in singles, and the duo of Shackleford and Stephanie Wilcox took seventh in doubles.
