Girl’s Tennis Dominates District Championships

By

Yet again, Girl’s Tennis took home first place at the Shawnee Mission District Tennis Tournament on Saturday. They dominated the tournament, winning 39 out of 40 total matches, 13 of which were won by a score of 8-0. East swept both singles and doubles, played in schools all across the district Saturday morning.

Senior Quincy Bair, who won two doubles at 8-0 with partner Grace Chisholm, says that East is usually this successful at Districts every year, but that she still enjoys facing off against other SMSD schools because she gets to play against people she knows who aren’t her teammates.

“There is definitely stronger competition ahead,” Bair said. “The Blue Valley schools always bring a strong group just like East.”
