Girls Swim Team Wins State for the Fourth Year

Today in Topeka the girls’ swim team won state for the fourth year in a row. For the seven seniors on the team this marked an undefeated high school swimming career. Freshman Bonnie Longan broke the 100 backstroke school record with a time of 57.89. The medley relay got third and the 200 and 400 free relay got second place. While most of the team placed in the top eight, Bonnie Longan was the only first place individual win for the Lancers. The seven freshman and seniors lead the team with most of them placing in the top eight, and all of them swimming at State this year. The Lancers beat Lawrence Free State with about a hundred point margin between the two teams.
