Girls’ Golf — Week 3

The girls’ golf team took second at the Washburn Rural Invitational at Cypress Ridge Golf Course in Topeka on Sept. 15.  The Lancers shot a 351, following Washburn Rural who had a 332.  Junior Anne Willman placed first with a 75.

Playing conditions were more difficult due to the high winds and cold weather.  Junior Kelly Tomlin and sophomore Annie Foster played in their second Varsity tournament in their career.  Coach Ritschl feels giving more experience to the younger players at the varsity level will help the team as a whole.

The Lancers have their next tournament at Blue Hills Country Club (MO-KAN Championship) on Sept. 19.  This will be the only tournament this season that the team will compete with teams from both Missouri and Kansas.
