Forensics Results for April 19-20

The East forensics team got first in sweepstakes for speech and interpretation Events, second in sweepstakes for debate events and firstin overall sweepstakes, which is for all events for the whole year, at the National Forensic League district tournament at SM South this weekend. They also had several students qualify for Nationals in Birmingham:

-Sam Bernard / Alec Armer- first – Duo Interpretation

-Justin Armer- second- Humorous Interpretation

-Ali Dasjerdi- first- foreign Extemporaneous Speaking

These students also competed but missed qualifying for Nationals.

-fourth, Public Forum Debate- Parker Mitchell / Spencer Mitchell

-third, Duo Interpretation- Alex Ritchie / Josh Fowler

-fifth, Duo Interpretation- Megan Gertzen / Justin Armer

-third, Humorous Interpretation- Erika Levy

-fourth, Humorous Interpretation- Hanna Bautz

-fifth, Humorous Interpretation- Jack Mitchell

-third, Dramatic Interpretation- Annie Sullivan

-fourth, Domestic Extemporaneous Speaking- Ada Throckmorton

-sixth, Domestic Extemporaneous Speaking- Karl Walter

-second, Foreign Extemporaneous Speaking- Henry Walter (previously qualified, defers to policy debate since students can only go to nationals in one event).

Original Oration- Hanna Bautz
