The Blue Knights jazz band opened for the University of Kansas (KU) jazz concert on Mar. 7. At the KU concert, the band performed alongside guest saxophonist Jaleel Shaw.
The band received this honor for their performance at the KU Jazz Festival, where they competed alongside bands from St. Louis, Nebraska, Colorado, Oregon and Montana. They were selected to perform at the KU concert and according to the emcee of the event, it was a “hands down” decision.
