East Players Make All-State Football

This morning, state football organization KPreps.com announced their 2014 6A All-State Team, which included five Lancer athletes. Head coach Dustin Delaney was also named the All-State football coach.

Senior Gunnar Englund was named one of two All-State quarterbacks, alongside Topeka High quarterback Alec Beatty. Englund led the team in playoffs last year, and was the starting quarterback throughout this year’s perfect state championship season. This season, he threw 1,249 yards and ran 710 yards for a combined 27 touchdowns.

Three other seniors were recognized as well. Senior Charley White was named one of four defensive backs; senior James Wooldridge was one of six offensive linesman recognized; and senior Kyle Ball was one of four defensive ends. Ball recently signed with Kansas State University to play football next year, and led the team with 118 tackles and 10 sacks this past season.

Junior Wyatt Edmisten was one of the few underclassmen recognized on the KPreps All-State team. As a runningback, Edmisten notched 1,523 running yards for 32 touchdowns.
