The East Lip Dub was featured in a Chevrolet commercial that was shown during the opening of the 2014 Winter Olympics. The commercial showed clips of seniors Naomi Gorelick, Morgan Twibell and Jack Stevens.
“I didn’t think it was real when Mr. Haney first called me into his office and showed me the release form,” senior Jack Stevens said.
East administrators were approached by Chevrolet about the Lip Dub being featured in their commercial after Thanksgiving. The administrators then approached the three seniors about being on the commercial.

The honey bee created an upset by not only beating the elephant in the first round but also defeating the Flame Bowerbird in the second round of the animal tournament. Wilkerson ended up winning the tournament in her IB Biology class with 82 points out of the possible perfect bracket 128.
“I did get into it and I looked up every single animal, and the how the weird battlefields worked or whatever the habitat was,” Wilkerson said. “Most of it was just applying some logic but [the March Mammal Madness tournament] was a fun and easy way to get some extra credit.”
