Cross Country to Hold “Lancer Lunar Launch” Fundraiser

This Thursday, September 19, the cross country team will have their “Lancer Lunar Launch” fundraiser on the East track. It will take place at 9 p.m., under the full moon. All cross country runners are to sell five t-shirts for the fundraiser at $15 a piece – four to friends, neighbors, teachers or parents, and one for themselves to wear at the Lancer Day Parade this Friday. Those who bought a t-shirt can come to the track, and “launch” themselves 1/4 mile up the Delmar street hill, just one of cross country’s many workout hills. They will run up the hill once. The run is optional for those who bought the shirt. Refreshments and snacks will be served to everyone at the finish.

“This time it’s the cross country runners watching the race,” head coach Tricia Beaham said. “It’s going to be a lot of fun, and won’t take up much time.”
