The Kansas City Star recently released the Boys’ Soccer All-Metro team. Three SM East seniors received honors. Senior Jack Sernett received an Honorable Mention, senior Bryce McClanahan was awarded second team honors and recently deceased senior Tyler Rathbun earned first team honors.

 

Choice to Leave the Chiefs

Hope led me there. Hope of change and victory. It took that hope- along with my money- and sucked it all up. It has been the source of disappointment and shame for many others besides me. Now, in the new year, I have decided to end it all. I will terminate my Kansas City Chiefs season tickets.

The winner of the 30th Annual Thomas A. Simone Memorial Award, given annually to the most outstanding football player in the Kansas City metropolitan area, was Dalvin Warmack of Blue Springs. The three other finalists for the Simone Award were Trent Hosick of Staley, Steven McBee of Fort Osage and Brad Strauss of Lawrence.
