Coach Kelly and the Lady Lancers took on the Lady Indians and their coach, SM East teacher Jim Ricker. The game was not only between the girls as Kelly and Ricker have a relationship off the field as teachers and co-coaches to their own children’s soccer team. The game ended early because of the mercy rule with the Lancers claiming victory, 10-0.

The SM East Symphonic Orchestra performed at the District Orchestra Festival last Wednesday, March 28, along with the other top orchestras in the district. Among the songs they performed were “Die Meistersingers” and “Russian Sailors Dance.”

In the 54th SME Quad Track and Field meet the Boys and Girls teams won convincingly. The Girls team won by 23.5 points while the Boys also came on top winning by 36 points.
The Shawnee Mission East choir went to Italy over spring break, their tour included various cities in northern Italy and chances to sing at many historic churches and locations.

Both SM East jazz bands, the Blue Notes and the Blue Knights, performed three selections on Feb 29.
