Made up of two recent graduates and two seniors, the band Vela offers a punk rock sound, with some blues influence, as well as some grunge. After summer gigs at First Fridays and the Beaumont Club, the band is focusing on their new album as well opportunities to tour next summer.
East-based band Local Talk opened a concert at Starlight Theatre on June 28. This was the largest and most professional venue the band has played at since it was formed.
