The cast list for Curtains, this year’s winter musical, was posted this morning on google classroom.
With dance auditions on Monday and vocal auditions Tuesday, 14 students were called back to audition again for lead roles Wednesday after school.
Curtains is a musical within a musical. It’s a comedic murder mystery that explores theatre stereotypes and has a range of eccentric characters, student director Riley Lathrom said. Curtains is a lot more mature than past musical productions, according to cast member Savanna Worthington.
“I think high school students will really think this one is funny,” Lathrom said. “There’s a lot of dialogue and quick-witted humor.”
Although 40 was the original cap, 50 students were cast. 60 were cast last year for Seussical.
“We’ve all worked together in the past and we’ve always had a good time,” Worthington said. “Everyone who got a part was very deserving of it.”
A cast read-through took place after school today in the choir room. The production will be Feb. 8-10.
