Boys’ Tennis Team Runner Up at Rockhurst Invitational

The varsity boys’ tennis team competed and received second place overall at the Rockhurst Invitational Tournament.  The tournament took place yesterday afternoon on the Plaza.The tournament consisted of 30 singles players and East Sophomore Brooks Kendall took fifth place overall.  According to head coach Sue Chipman the Rockhurst tournament is always a competitive field of teams however East has competed very well in recent years.

“These players did an exemplary job representing East with intensity and class,” Chipman said in an email to the East staff.  “Our parents were amazing and I could not have been more proud of our school.”

Along with Kendall’s fifth place finish, Sophomore Jamie McDonald came in seventh out of the 30 singles.  On the doubles side of the tournament Jackson O’Gorman-Bean and Jake Glazer came in 2nd and Drew Surface and Reese Goulding finished 10th overall.
