This Wednesday, the concert and symphonic band put on a concert at East. The bands played a handful of songs they’ve been practicing in class this semester.
“[The symphonic band did] four songs, then the concert band is doing three, then the drumline [did] one of their little, cool things,” junior Avi Gomez said. “[We] just [showed] off what we’ve done so far.”
The 5/6A All-State Band will play on Mar. 1 at the Century II Concert Hall at 3 p.m. East has eight students in the band, including junior Rachel Kim, senior Michelle Lu, senior Xinyi He, senior Noah Eidemiller, junior Michael Dannov, senior Chandler Kline, sophomore Sam Slater and senior Frazier Krohn. Band students are also currently participating in the KMEA State Competition in Wichita.
